Shots suck...

Awesome things about being two months old: laughing out loud, the ability to track objects 180 degrees, realizing you're the boss of your own hands, cooing, car rides, the swing, and singing along with mom and dad.

Sucky things: first shots.

Today Lola got her first shots and while I think it was worse for me than her, it ranks about number 4 on my "things that suck" list. Turns out I don't like to hear my daughter scream in pain, even for a few minutes. Who knew?

She did, however, get three neon band-aids, which are not only functional, but highly fashionable.

On the good side, we learned that she weighs 10 pounds, 15.8 ounces and is now 23.5 inches long. That's 3 pounds and 3 inches in 10 weeks - at this rate, by my calculations, she'll be approximately 7 feet tall in kindergarten. All hail giant Lola!

  1. Go Lola!! After Seamus got his first shots, he slept for 3 hours straight, which was unheard of. I wanted to take him back to the pediatrician the next day and ask them for more shots! (Mean mommy I know)

  2. Joe was a trooper with the needles, but taking the bandaids off later was the traumatic part. It took me awhile to learn to ask them, very firmly, to not put bandaids on him. His delicate skin just couldn't handle the adhesive. I'd just hold the cotton ball in place until he stopped bleeding.

    Giant Lola. Can't wait.
