My blogging of late has been very poor. There's been lots of excitement here - I just need to get my act together to document it all better.
So, what's been up with us?
Within a couple of days of my last post, Lola started walking in earnest. She would start with one or two steps, and then she'd be on the other side of the room. Now she can even carry other stuff around with her. Ted and I sit on opposite sides of the room and she goes back and forth, often flinging herself into our arms. Mucho cute.
On July 1, Brookie and Josh moved to Portland. Yay!!! It is still so strange to be able to go see her without a 3 hour drive. They are renting an awesome home that I foresee spending much time at (plus, it's right next to a park we can check off our park list).
Lola's daycare was closed from 7/5-7/8, so we got to hang out all week. To compound the awesomeness, we also got (thanks Lago!) a swing set with a slide and other fun zones. It took us a while to get it together, but when we did, Lola had a blast. The first time she got to swing and slide in her own backyard was so enjoyed, that I think she was a little overwhelmed. We actually had to spend quiet time in a dark room for a while afterwards to come down from the experience. I think it will be a favorite for years to come.
My mom is coming to visit this week, and is super excited to see Lola. I am super excited to see her see Lola. She hasn't seen her in person since Christmas, when she was 7 months old. Crazy.
All in all, summer is busy and fun. I have some pics and videos I will use to append this post to be more interesting!
