It makes me want to say I was a child bride but I was 20 years old and set, hard, on whatever it was I wanted. (Side note: today I was listening to a debate on the radio about how old one needs to be considered an adult. Newer neuro research evidence points to an age between 24-30, with latitude for exposure to experience. But let's face it: I was a straight-up kid.)
But some how, some way, Ted and I remain the "us." Now, Lola has joined our ranks (and what a fine young officer she is) and I find myself shocked and awed re: how quickly our lives move, but how we find roots and strength in the feed and watering from our friends and the medium of our families.
Ah, but I digress...Ted, I can only thank you for the years you've put in, and your willingness to take on more. You are seriously awesome, and a little messed up. I love you. Here's to seventeen years of us-ness and to more!
