I used to love sick days. Well, not the sick part, but the staying in my pajamas, watching crappy TV, the self-pity that is soothed best with hot chocolate and someone else cooking for you... But Lola has not yet learned the sick role, and seems to think that sickness only means practicing avoidance of any attempt at snot-wiping, playing while holding on to one of us, and sneezing directly into my mouth. We stayed home today after she developed a double whammy of a head cold and some sort of blowout-inducing tummy bug that upset her sleep (and, by default, ours). She seemed much better today, but man, I need a nap.
On a side note, she has also started babbling "mama" all the time, which makes me feel all gooshy and sweet, so it seems like a fair trade for those mouth sneezes.

(Please note the blanket moat that makes falling down a little softer. Now that's good parenting...) |
