Ode to blankey...

When I was about 12 weeks pregnant, my mom taught Ted to crochet and he started making a blanket for Lola:




It took a while, but by the time she was a few months old, she had blankey. 

Blankey has not ever been without Lola for an entire 24 hour period.  

It got to the point where I had to take it from her after she was asleep to wash it and hopefully she wouldn't notice the next day. My mom even made a twin blankey so we could swap them out for washing. But she knew the difference and the Grandma blankey was relegated to back-up, school, and wash-related needs.  

Well, now even the Grandma blankey gets heavy rotation, so it is more likely you'll see Lola with a grayish-yellow blanket with a variety of burrs, briars, and stains.

But today I had a chance to wash blankey while Lola was at school. Pure bliss:
