So, the Portland public schools program has some great neighborhood schools, as well as charter and focus programs. I have been enamored of the Odyssey focus program since we moved here-it's a K-8 mixed ages (grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8) history-themed Montessori approach. So we went through the parent meetings and the registration and the lottery, and found out yesterday that Lola was in!
Felt like a college acceptance. Weird.
Anyway, hopefully the program is a good match for however she learns, but we are so excited that this focus program is housed at what would be her neighborhood school anyway. Hard to believe she's even old enough!
